So whether you're from Sacramento, Monterray, Santa Rosa, or the Central Valley and planning on a long kinky weekend, or flying in for a vacation or on business, here's a little info that you might find useful. First off, a word about SOMA, the neighborhood the SFCitadel is in. It stands for South of Market, one of the main streets of San Francisco. SOMA is a neighborhood in transition. Historically an area of factories and warehouses, a gentrification process has started that makes it a mix of funky music clubs, restaurants, leather, shops... and transients. The most common crime in SOMA is smash and grab car break ins. The Castro may be America's Gay Homehown, but SOMA is the Leather Heart of America!
